While many enjoy their experience at Newport Steak & Seafood, a few guests mention that during peak hours, waits can be longer than desired, especially on Thursday evenings. Some diners express that the seating can get tight during busy periods, making it feel cramped. Additionally, a small number of patrons feel the menu is heavy on comfort food, which may not cater to everyone’s taste for lighter options. A few also mention that while the atmosphere is lively, it may not always suit those seeking a quieter dining experience. Overall, these minor critiques do not deter from the overall excellent representation of this local gem.
Amazing service! Super friendly and accommodating. Loved that there was a gluten free option, decent portions and cute interior. Would come back again.
Absolutely delicious, home-made food, sauces, soups, and bread with exceptional service. This place has the best clam chowder I've had, and the chicken strips with in house breading and tender, juicy chicken were delectable. The server was fast, fun, smart and had a gorgeous smile and eyes that were a great dinner topic. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back and try more menu items!
We went for dinner as a group of 14 without a reservation. Service was wonderful. Fast, efficient and friendly. Delicious soft fresh bread to start. Chicken rice soup was fabulous! The meals was delicious! I had the chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes and it’s the first time I have had the choice of three types of gravy! It was great. My husband loved his sautéd scallops and they were perfect. Price was reasonable.
Don't let the atmosphere fool you. The service was excellent. The food was great. I totally enjoyed the way the scallops were prepared. I'd never eaten them prepared in a mushroom sauce before.
If you are visiting Newport, OR - do yourself a huge favor and stop in to see my friends at Newport Steak and Seafood! BEST TIME TO GO??? 3:00 pm! At 5? Forget it... WHERE TO SIT??? At the bar in the lounge! WHO TO ASK FOR??? My man - Charlie! (Tell him TODD - "terribly odd" sent you!) He will hook you up! As he says,"I got you!" and he does! 🤘😃🤘 My wife and I stopped in yesterday for a quick nibble to celebrate a victory for my wife at work. I'm simply the trophy husband. 😉 Every single bite was beyond outstanding! I ordered the big-boy steak, rare... with a big salad instead of a potato side with soup/salad. Charlie brought out this amazing platter of freshly made bread and whipped butter. Absolutely, decadent... My mouth is watering now just giving this review. Then he dropped off our salads. Folks, the greens in this salad were so fresh! The heavy handed display of FRESH cucumber was low on seeds and skin! Summer perfection! And, nary a cucumber burp to be had later in the evening. Both our salads were so cooling, crisp and refreshing. Then we heard the bells ring in the back of the house and Charlie said, "your steaks are ready! I'll be right back!" He topped off our drinks constantly and made sure we wanted for nothing! Despite the fact he was super busy and short staffed. Then the PERFECTLY seared meat arrived! Listen people... I am so picky with my steaks, I haven't had one since we took our little girls to Disney World twenty years ago! We had dinner in Cinderella's Castle and I ordered a steak. That steak was the single best steak I have ever had IN MY PATHETIC LIFE!!! This 16 oz piece of beautiful bovine was so soft and flavorful. No gristle to be found, at all! It was one of those steaks you slow down to enjoy... you savor each and every smoky succulent bite.... I was in big-boy heaven! Let me tell you a secret about Newport and the surrounding areas. You WILL get ripped off at other locations. You WILL spend a small fortune for little flavor. Poor service. Stale tea. And then you have the fast food joints where you get human dog food and still spend a fortune! They aren't all bad here on the coast but we've lived here for years and this was the first big splurge we have entertained in many long years. We received so much excellence for our money, we were more than happy to heavily tip my man, Charlie! This was an important event for us and Newport Steak and Seafood BLEW US AWAY!!! Here's a little secret about me. My Spirit Guide is the great Kodiak. I've known this since I was eleven. I'm fifty six now. When I get an exceptional piece of beef or Salmon? I can see my Spirit Guide in my head, rolling around on his back on freshly fallen bed of fall leaves - content and satisfied. I saw and felt my Kodiak as we walked to our car. Utterly and completely at peace and satisfied with life. AND IT WAS GOOD!!! Give this place a shot! Ask for CHARLIE (Monday - Thursday) and relax... Because? He's got you!
Prime rib special was excellent and the French dip was very good too. Fabulous fries! But best of all was the little loaf of warm bread. Yum. Danny was a very pleasant waiter, yet everyone (there were two additional staff for not an huge place) also worked as a team by checking in with each others tables.
Food was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was more than welcoming. The service outstanding! We will be returning on our way through again!
